I have 18 years experience in higher education publishing, with a particular interest in authoring and editing online/distance learning and healthcare. During this time I have been employed by such prestigious organisations as The Max Planck Society (Munich, Germany), The Royal College of Nursing, The Open University and The University of Manchester. I have undertaken freelance work for numerous years and am pleased to say that my clients come back with repeat business - the sign of a job well done!
I have a Diploma in Nursing (1990), BA (1996), MA (2005), Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (2015) and a Certificate in Editing (2002). I have also completed numerous free online courses, have undertaken advanced Microsoft Office training and am committed to my own personal learning through conferences and networking.
I am on the organising board for the Leeds and Harrogate based charity Friends of Alfie Martin. We fundraise to purchase much-needed equipment for the Leeds Centre for Neonatal Care, which serves the greater Yorkshire area. I am also a Director for Mirrabook Development Trust CIC, which is a social enterprise that aims to develop free online learning for children and young people, to encourage them to reach their full potential.
